We Say...

Put down that good ol’ American Budweiser, pick up a glass of Bordeaux and get ready for the fifth annual Bastille Day celebration in Audubon Park. With last week’s Fourth of July celebration, they’re keeping the freedom train going by commemorating the French Revolution with some of our favorite French features in the name of “liberté, égalité, fraternité.” This Fête de la Fédération honors the day in 1789 when French patriots stormed a fortress-prison in Paris, essentially ending the French Revolution. So grab your beret and use this Parisian-inspired neighborhood party to learn why a nice glass of Beaujolais goes so well with a stinky piece of brie at an “Artisan Cheese and Fine Wine Pairing” with Chef Tonda of La Femme du Fromage. Making the deal even sweeter, dessert will consist of exquisite French macarons, provided by the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes Orlando. Last year, tickets sold out quickly (oh là là!) for the Garden District fundraiser, so get yours tout de suite! – Kelly Chambers
