We Say...

Is it really possible to watch 20 images flash before your eyes in 20 seconds and learn from it while being entertained? Oh, it is possible and it is happening on Friday at the Orange Studio. PechaKucha (which is derived from the Japanese term meaning “chit-chat”) draws out the best of local Orlando creatives – writer J. Bradley, former WMFE CEO Jose Fajardo, mermaid mistress Mia Mom, among others – to meet, network and share their work, just as originally intended when PechaKucha Night was started in 2003 in Tokyo. The 20 images are part of a PowerPoint presentation that can be about any topic of the presenters’ choosing, and this version includes anything from Alexa Eastwood’s “Becoming a Savage” to Evan Miga’s “The Most Interesting Person I Know” to “Local Food and the Artisan Economy” by John Rife. Consider this your chance to get up-close and (maybe!) personal with a collection of Orlando’s talented locals. – Drexler B. James
